Polaris Semiconductor Appoints Semiconductor and Aerospace & Defense Veteran Anton Quiroz to Advisory Board
Alexandria, VA – July 16, 2025 – Polaris Semiconductor, an innovator in high-efficiency power management technology, today announced the appointment of Anton Quiroz to its advisory board. Quiroz brings nearly a decade of experience in semiconductor entrepreneurship, P&L management, and navigating complex government contracts and grants within the aerospace and defense (A&D) industry.
"We are honored to have Anton join our advisory board at such a pivotal time for Polaris Semiconductor," said Matthew Lumb, CEO of Polaris Semiconductor. "His exceptional background in developing and commercializing radiation-hardened electronics for space and defense applications is a perfect match for our strategic vision. As we approach our first space heritage mission to the International Space Station, Anton's insights and experience will be a tremendous asset."
Polaris Semiconductor has developed a groundbreaking, patented technology that delivers efficient, low-noise and compact DC/DC power conversion without the use of traditional switching methods. This unique approach, detailed in the company's recent white paper, "Breaking the Rules of Linear Regulators: High Efficiency Buck and Boost Conversion Without Switching," results in ultra-low noise, high-efficiency, and low component-count power management solutions, ideal for demanding low-noise applications, such as RF, analog and precision sensing systems. Moreover, our high-rel and radiation tolerant offerings meet the stringent requirements of the space and defense sectors.
Quiroz is the co-founder and former CEO of Apogee Semiconductor, a fabless semiconductor company that delivers high-reliability, radiation-hardened electronics. At Apogee, he led the development and commercialization of a portfolio of rad-hard integrated circuits and secured multi-million-dollar funding from agencies including NASA, the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Energy (DOE), and the Department of Defense (DoD). His prior leadership roles at Texas Instruments and Cobham Semiconductor Solutions (now Frontgrade) have provided him with deep technical and market knowledge in space-grade semiconductors and aerospace systems.
"I am excited to work with the Polaris Semiconductor team," said Quiroz. "Their approach to power management is both innovative and practical, addressing real challenges in the A&D and new space sectors with efficient, reliable, and inherently low-noise solutions. I’m looking forward to supporting their growth as they bring this transformative technology to market."
Quiroz earned a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of Florida. He currently advises small and mid-sized businesses on government contract compliance, technology commercialization, and go-to-market strategy.
