Polaris Semiconductor to Showcase High-Efficiency, Low-Noise Power Solutions at SmallSat 2025

Alexandria, VA – July 21, 2025 – Polaris Semiconductor will exhibit its breakthrough power management technology at the 39th Annual Small Satellite Conference (SmallSat) in Salt Lake City, Utah, from August 10-13, 2025. The company invites attendees to Booth T2 to discover its innovative solutions for point-of-load regulation.

For satellite designers, balancing the need for high efficiency with low-noise power regulation has been a persistent challenge, often resulting in design compromises involving size, weight, and component count. Traditional linear regulators are low-noise but inefficient, while switching regulators are efficient but introduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) that can degrade the performance of sensitive components.

Polaris Semiconductor's Enhanced Linear Regulator (ELR) technology directly solves this problem. By combining the advantages of linear regulators with the efficiency of switching regulators, ELRs deliver high-efficiency buck and boost conversion without introducing switching noise. This is achieved by co-packaging a conventional LDO with the company's unique, high-performance photovoltaic-output optocouplers.

Recognizing the needs of the space industry, Polaris has developed variants that maintain high performance in harsh radiation environments. For the most demanding, mission-critical systems, these devices leverage fully radiation-hardened LDOs. Polaris also offers co-packaging with upscreened, rad-tolerant LDOs, a solution particularly useful for New Space payloads. Both configurations are combined with Polaris’s own radiation-resistant optocoupler technology to ensure reliable, long-term operation.

"Our goal is to eliminate the design trade-offs that have constrained satellite engineers for years," said Matthew Lumb, Founder and CEO of Polaris Semiconductor. "We offer a solution that provides an unmatched combination of low-noise, minimal footprint, and high efficiency, giving designers a new and powerful tool to create next-generation systems."

Attendees are encouraged to visit Booth T2 to meet with Matthew Lumb, CTO Kenneth Schmieder, and the Polaris team to learn more.
